Another Rag riddle complete. Such a grand effort, great views & awesome folks. THANK YOU Isaac, Lars, Jake and Wheelhouse Cycles. Everyone, great show!! A-Magazine has some video of everyone going up Lehrbach.
Nothing like gravel to grovel in all day to help get ya in shape. To get ya lost. And create stories. Yeah I followed that guy, who followed that guy, who was simply enjoying the ride going the wrong way!!
My mileage computer was even stupider than my brain (which I left at home.) .9 miles or so was really 1-mile on my screen. My simple math and eyesight was more than .1 off all day though. See the picture showing my larger errors.....yet i back tracked, completed!! Got a flat early on too. All good on a blue bird day.
I totally enjoyed seeing Bob 3 times, Q-Pete 3 times, Mara 3 times, the grey posse 3 times ect ect... I got some funny looks! I also enjoyed that one hill and made sure to pedal up that one too!!! I admit i did walk a bit of the very last climb, but got back on and finished........ I figure an extra 17 miles minimum for me on top of the stated 107 from start to back to start. Happy with results really. I enjoyed as fatigue weighted more and more and more and more.
In no order here's the folks I think completed all 5 Ragnarok's:
Brandt Elson
Brian Dukek
Heath Weisbrod
Dan Dittmer
Hurl Everson
Eddie Karow
Troy Lawrence
Isaac Rag
Jake Rag
Lars Rag
Congrats to all 2012 riders!! Later.

Snubbed by Green & White
We'll Good Friday to you! Today I headed east for a near 70 mile day. I was snubbed by two bicyclist wearing colors. Maybe it was my invisible orange bike, or black tights revealing scary huge bulges that created blinding shadows in the mid-day sun. Perhaps the too hot rod colored too bright o jersey blinded the duo's view. No matter, I'm sure they we're saving watts for the uber beat down of a ride ahead. Yeah a couple of real watts.
Speaking of power. I've tapped into the new hub and really enjoying it thus far. I've yet to do a profile test but having fun looking at lines and colors. :) Yeah, the hub already causing me to pedal harder, and that's not even doing drills yet. Power is real. Heart rate, speed and perceived just not the same.
Gears or SS at Rag. Not sure. Gears on now. If i end top 10 I'll be surprised. Looking forward to a great long day on the bike with you all. The Rag rules. Good base work for Cheq100.....

New Wheel Build
Sometimes the past don't matter, the future is where it's at. It's the horizon not the past which brings a new. A measure of time will produce the monster yet seen. It starts with water, carbon just a benefit, got sand, got silicon advantage? My bike just got heavier! Tis ok, replace parachute pack with sand. Compute?

Farmer Tan
If you ain't got Farmer Tan yet your missing out. Thinking 7+ hours on bike Friday Saturday Sunday. Sunday hooked up with Angry Catfish Team, it turned out to be a standard roadie ride, not duh group shenanigan's I expected. DUH!! No one told me other guys we're doing a later ride. Split. I gave it a go. Two women actually showed, Terra James and friend. That's always good. With my no gear situation they we're after blood, nice. Anyway, the 44x17 cx tire set-up was brutal up high bridge and up Ohio. But the worst part was down South of the Zoo on back roads with wind on back, I rubber banded (oh snap!). Like my thighs we're twanged trying to go 25-30mph for long periods, hamstah meat. Other than once I stuck with group doing high cadence abuse. And the back pack got some comments too. Whatever. All good. Farmer Tan, check.

Snowboarding Across Water
Weird. Friday after work cruised home a few hours....and got rained on....it felt warm.
Saturday at Afton Alps with Leo was a blast.
Skipping Water!!! At 6m20sec a great skier kid crash, then me on board with flailing arms then Leo on board side skipping. I thought I'd have to jump in after Leo, but he was able to manage.

That Look!!!!!!
The driver looked surprised, scared, face crinkled ready for impact. Picture below (maybe).
I so dislike riding on the road (danger). That's why I stay on pathways early in AM or hit the country Luce Line like paths. I do ride road if it's a cut over to another path or in a large group (hoping that helps).
Yesterday I took the Luce line out to Baker Park, then headed back through Wayzata. The cx 44x17 was good. 44x16 next. Anyway 2 miles from my house on Mntka Blvd, following traffic, with sun behind my back, a car turn right at me....didn't see me in the sun or something. I was literally 3 ft from being smacked. I was going just under 20, they we're coming right at me from on-coming traffic lane into large parking lot.
I SAW A PICTURE LIKE NONE OF THESE. Ever see one yourself???
Now 3 driver scream/fright looks under my belt. Not happy about it.
Must avoid putting myself in harms way. Be careful out there!!!!

How Much Salt?
Leo and I went snowboarding Sunday to Welch. No salt needed to soften the snow. We built jumps. I wore shorts. We watch a skier yard sale, now Leo knows the term Yard Sale.
Saturday left the house at 6:40AM and picked up Eddie, Barry, R Ray and then headed to Afton. All in all biking for 6+ hours at 44x17cx. Nice. 1 scoop of heed, 1 scoop of perp (has 1 salt pill worth), 3 heaping endurolite servings, 1 protein bar, a pb & j, and 60oz water was just enough.
Check out the picture below. Blue snow? A little too much of something Friday morning when I arrived at work! Inventory clear out.
