Hillside not like Arrowhead

I SOLD THE KONA

The Hillside race yesterday was a blast. Easy to say now that it's over. Scored another second this year behind Brendan M. He said I was making up time on lap two. I was about 3 minutes closer to him this race, no matter. Lap two caused many to DNF. It was a delerium of sweat, tears and no-gears (running). Just think if you sweated like that at Arrowhead!?? Coldbear! All good. About the Arrowhead...good luck hard men...follow the race at the site link.  Later.

Some Things a Blur?

Not a blur, as I feel it deep:
Thurs, Hillside snowy banked corners lap.
Saturday Leb full lap plus, two flats. Don't Ask.
Sunday Theo and many rouge trails with Jimmay
Today commute to work with full, not a feature missed Theo riddle. Then similiar back home.
Yesh! I think I'll run the hamster treadmill Wednesday. Bike to work balmy Thursday.

Duncan running the stairs this CX season with his 29'er SS 2.2 racing ralph's in tow. A blur.

Alta (3rd Orange Jersey) w/soccer team Sat. She got 2 goals.
With parents 40+ invade Broadway Pizza. Not a blur.
Duncan clearly using Grandpa's Pug for a full lap at Hillside Race.

OTB at 6:55AM

Hold onto the bars tight: this post is about an AM commute OTB -and- a little Hillside race recap too.

I've been avoiding a stump up-and-over at Theo. I called it the OTB. The picture shows why. I blame it on the big ring. It was Jimmy's way of getting me back for leaving LCR. That's really all to report. Soft snowy landing.

Hillside Race Recap.... A great day raging through the woods on totally hardpack trail. Afterwards a big bonfire and libation fest followed. Duncan borrowed Grandpa's pug, so it was extra awesome for pops (me). So off the start I led down the road. Brendan always seems to follow and let me lead. I let up a bit as I wanted him to pass, plus I was a little tired. Going into race I felt I wasn't in great shape. Actually I did ok. So Brendan, Cody and I led at a slow-ish pace. Cody didn't have tall gears. That allowed Hollywood to sneak into woods first. I saw it happening and was going to get ahead of wood but I was trapped by B&C. Wood led us through prologue quite slow. It became a big train. Sorta fun, sorta slow. It didn't take long and Cody, then I and Brendan led. Cody hit the drifts and bogged down. I tried to pass, and had to get off and run after Cody. I looked back and it was a mess of people on the ground and running, both. Brendan caught Cody and I. I was working hard and decided to let Brendan go by to let him stay with Cody. I was able to stay with them for a while, and then popped off the back a bit. I could generally see Cody a minute ahead at most for a while, and then he started to sneak away farther. Later I caught Cody in sec 4 last lap as his chain broke. Brendan won, I was second. From what I hear Death rider rammed wood's derailleur in commotion of blockage activity. So it goes. Good day for me and D-Man.

Rambo Development Program Commence

Building a sled course twice in 2 weeks does cause some pain. Hot lap at Leb Friday, 2 fair pace hot Laps at Leb Sunday riding all new packed log lines. Then today. Today had the day off. It was bike to Theo for some pain? Sounds silly.

HOWEVER. Met up with a fine young lad and we put down some lines. Oh it was a mellow flat theo ride - right? Nope - twas slow death. We did all Theo, then everything NOT THEO from hwy55 to Robbinsdale to Theo again. Hike-a-bike, boot track-n-bronco cowboy crap, 2-pin 8-tracks, steep boot track up hills, rail line sillyness, long snowbank treking, down hill fright lines, woods slosshing, hike-a-bike again.

RAMBO. Sweat out evil, flush out the toxins, beat down the sludge.

3 hours of pushing bike bike via multi-modes in woods with 30+ min inclusive on pathways to & from. No car. It's been a while since an event almost made me nap. That's right no nap today, but it was tough to stay awake post, instead keep eating. Cereal, whey protien, shrimp, costco pizza, then good.

Success: 2 Injuries

We had a house full last night. Sled party another great success. Thanks for the good times all. The line up was 10 deep at times to take one of the luuugee courses. Adults even hit the gap jump and step up line. Some bloddy knuckles, no major injuries. Kids from 5-50 years old took the lines into 2011. Video's from this am. Course was slower due to fresh snow. Oh, regarding skinny Jimmay and I built at theo (pictured in prior post). It's reported rock solid and still whole. Happy New Year!
