Fighting from Leeward

AM ride was a bit of Ragnarok. Except last year ssRag was 3-5mph - 20 min. intervals fighting wind/snow. Mainly ride thoughts were summer breezes & painful pushes on road bike. Looking forward to big ring efforts enjoying shakes of the old green Bianchi. As my mind wandered SNOW stuck to my fork and gloves, pelting my eyes. The tires left occasional snow tracks. Sweet. People say, "you sure train alot". Yeah it's hard to get up or out sometimes but every time pure pleasure. I'm in Rag105, Iceman, Cheq40 & Leadville100 all SS. Motivated to enjoy!

Stinky Streets - Fenders Rule

Not much to report other than missed weekend weather ride oppourtunity due to my not so simple life. I did communute to work, then back home, then to class, then back home last night. A few good hours w/fenders. More of the same today but night class was mpls stead of St Paul. Monday was the first time on a non-pug bike since November. I yumped on and almost wiggled right off going down my drive. No lie, shaking like an old timer. Well older than my B.A. 42yr, stb 43 age. My bike choice is almost a CX cause of the cx tires, almost road bike cause of air pressure (110lbs), almost fixie cause of 44x17 gear (but it's too easy & free!), almost a mtb cause it's my 29'er mtb frame(but on road), it is SS. So there, I'm a poser of almost all good things.

What Now?

All good. Ragnarok105 SS in a month! Sent in for CheqSS & IcemanSS. Will do many MNSCS and a few WORS. Not sure about Afton24 or 9-Mile. WEMS? Lacrosse & Levis100 has had my interest for years depends on date as I'm doing Leadville100SS. Mankato 12 hr? What else? Maybe a road trip or business sidebar here or there. Not really thinking about Nationals anymore, semi-pro is gone. I was young enough for semi-fun-back-o-pack, but dead last pro might be too old soon enough. So no nats. Been riding and actually hitting the gym a bit. Sort of behind. Sort of nervious. Then again, gotz all year. No time to worry bout time. C-ya on snowy trail.

Leb Full Lap Solo w/4-5 inches Fresh

First tracks this AM. Unlike Summer with cobwebs as reward, today first tracks was simply FRESH. Pristine solo abuse, no, it was wonderous work. With studs still on the endomophs took it low low pressure and it rocked. Bobbing n spinning up hills was so much work and so much fun!! Just a sighting of John L. otherwise no one. I left at 6:30AM, hit starbucks, started riding after 7 and finished full loop by 10. Perfect. It's only February, remember the 8 inches last April 1?

Cold Sprints to Hillside Pug Fest 2009

I don't appreciate the trainer, but last 2 weeks spun 5 times 30-60min each. It really hurts. Somehow found "time" at lunch or the rare night at home. Where's the base? I don't enjoy home projects, yet boys rooms and bath all finally got mudded n taped last week. Dust, dust dusted. Cold sprints a good single spin, then electronics went to fritzville. I had to leave before fixed. Look 3 LCR after qualifiers 5th, 6th, & 8th of 47. Top 16 moved on. Next time. HILLSIDE: um yeah. Not the healthiest race for me. But studded pug tires and all things considered, YEAH!! $100 cash for 2nd. Getting beat by a team mate (pirate). All good. 2nd was enough to secure 1st overall in pug series (sweet trophy). Wish I could have stuck around for post car rally and group McCoy's trip. I had to go to the McCah's for family send off of out-in-laws. Speaking of fam, it was awesome to have Sqrl Jr & Grey Sqrl racing. What a great day!!Three generations of LCR sqrls. Cool.
